A closer look
Guests see the finished service, but the experience depends on many exchanges they never notice. Information about timing, dietary needs and changing priorities has to move clearly between the kitchen and floor.
Ask candidates how they prepare for those exchanges. A good example can reveal respect for colleagues, understanding of the operation and the ability to communicate without adding pressure.
The operator should explain its own service rhythm too. A recruitment conversation works in both directions when the candidate can understand the environment they would join.
Keep in mind
- Make communication visible
- Discuss preparation
- Explain the service rhythm
