A closer look
Reliable, passionate and professional are reasonable expectations, but they do not explain a role. Describe the service setting, the responsibilities and the decisions the person will make. A candidate should be able to picture the working day.
Include the relationships that make the work possible. Who provides information? Who receives the handover? Which situations require judgement rather than following a routine? These questions turn a generic brief into a useful one.
Separate what must be present on arrival from what the team can teach. That distinction helps widen the search without lowering the standard of service.
Keep in mind
- Explain the setting
- Name the responsibilities
- Distinguish training from requirements
